Iain Shipley is a project manager with twenty years' experience making his literary debut with THE FORTITUDE CHRONICLES trilogy.

Drawing from his professional background in documentation and complex project management, Iain brings meticulous attention to medical detail and procedural accuracy to his fiction. His experience navigating healthcare systems and observing the dedication of NHS professionals informs the authenticity of the medical environments and characters in his work.

A TEST OF FORTITUDE, the first volume in the trilogy, explores themes of resilience, identity, and the strength required to navigate catastrophic illness. The book is dedicated to the neurosurgeons and medical teams whose skill and compassion inspire his portrayal of the healthcare professionals in the narrative.

The planned trilogy will span two generations across China and England, examining how fortitude passes through families, from historical upheaval to modern medical crisis. Books 2 and 3 will explore the Cultural Revolution's impact on survivors and the inherited strength that shapes recovery from devastating illness.
